    Question Low Volume


    Hi Everyone,

    Running Suse 10.0 on a lenovo idea pad and i am having a problem getting the volume set high enough to hear any music, dialogue!. I have set the volume control up as far as it will go but can hardly hear anything. Had this problem running Ubuntu on a Sony laptop but managed to resolve the problem but cannot remember what i done. Can anyone help please. Thanks.

    Hi and Welcome !

    Have you tried alsamixer command in Terminal. I am not a SuSe user. alsamixer command worked in a few old distros.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Thumbs up Volume Level

    Thanks for that suggestion Devils Casper it's done the trick . Volume goes lot higher now although not ear splitting can now hear sound without straining one's ears.
