Enable the packman repository. It has a number of non-free packages available, including some multimedia stuff and the broadcom wl driver you need for you wireless.

Or one click non-free packages here.

And a more comprehensive guide here.

The explanation is terrible in the link you have given. Is it so complex to install the wireless drivers in Suse 11.2
I enabled the packman repository. I selected broadcom-wl from the list and it installed all the dependencies and after the restart there is no wireless detected. I changed the network settings to traditional ifup and even there I dont seem to find the wl what the author was talking about in the link.

Can some one please help me with this please. Its horrible to have a laptop without wireless.

Alright I got the wireless working. I had to select different kernel at the bootloader. Now my question is how do I remove the old kernels from the disk. Because I only have 2 gb of left over space in / and I have 7 gb for my home directory. Also how do I clean up all the downloaded files from the packman repository or something.

I ran the command zypper clean -a and it cleaned everything in the zypp. Any suggestions of removing the extra files from the disk

Yesterday I tried to install netbeans ide from the command line
zypper install netbeans-ide. And I dont find the netbeans on my applications or anywhere. I need some suggestions of getting netbeans working.

Go into Yast and remove the kernel you do not want.

How much space did you allow for the root partition. Your personal data gets stored in /home but temp data gets stored in / the root partition. So you could run out of space if you tried to burn a large DVD. Linux is not graceful when it runs out of Disk space and tends to simply lock up.

Since you have limited resources I recommend you set the /tmp to be cleared at boot up. This will clear any old temp files when you boot. Go to

Yast->System->SYS Config Editor - System - Cron - CLEAR_TMP_DIRS_AT_BOOT and set it to yes

For .wav and windows sound files, you need w32codecs-all.
For LAMP server, go to yast2>software and filter on patterns and scroll down to server functions.
Try searching for netbeans at: software.opensuse.org/search
