Domain Name Server, suse10.3
My router has the DNS running. Some texts say that
I can leave it closed, so only internal network can see the DNS.
Or you can open the DNS to tell the Internet your domain name.
(I have a registered name and static IP.)
How do I open and close the DNS to the Internet?
The only thing I can think of is by opening or closing
the DNS port in the firewall. Is that right?
Sincerely
/b

Is your router running on the suse 10.x box or on some other device?
To get outside/Internet visibility, you need to open the port in the firewall.
The only reason you would want to have your nameserver visible from outside is if you run an authoratitive server and have sub-domains and services that need to be accessible from outside (like an isp say).
