CAn't change font size
No matter what I do with system settings I cannot change the font size or type of font in Firefox and Thunderbird - other programs as well. Is there somewhat to change this? The fonts are too small and I have vision problems. I know I can hit ctrol ++ but with other distros I can change the deflt font size for the system. I am using openSUSE 11.3 and like it very much except for this lack of a feature.
Thanks

Actually both Gnome and KDE. But I will have to get back to you on this question. openSUSE 11.3 is on another computer and I want to make sure I'm phrasing this correctly. My default desktop is Gnome -= I prefer it KDE.
Thank you very much for your quick reply. I'll get back to this thread - probably tomorrow.

NoSquint
In Firefox, I use the addon called 'NoSquint'. It allows for changing the default text size, page size and text and background colors.
The addon can be found at the addons page for Mozilla.
(sorry, no link - apparantly I haven't posted enough to be allowed to post a url)
You can also change the default text size from the preferences dialog box.
I haven't used Thunderbird in many years, but I recall that you can change the text sizes for message body, message list, etc from a preferences dialog.

Try this command as root or use sudo.....then log out, log back in. The command will enable Auto-Hinter system wide.
Then you may also check this post for further hints.Code:ln -s /etc/fonts/conf.avail/10-autohint.conf /etc/fonts/conf.d/

Hi
Have you tried Edit>Preferences>content>fonts&colours>Advanced>Mi n font size and set it to the minimum size you would like to have to be able to read comfortably.
