Duel Booting with a Mac (without windows?)

    Hey everyone,

Im a bit new to linux but want to give it a shot, i currently have a Macbook and would like to install it there as a duel boot with OSX.

Tried to get it going using bootcamp but its just annoying me now, do i have to install windows first before installing Linux or is there another way around this since i need a authentic version of windows, to which i will never use i just want the linux and OSX running.

Any solutions? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You don't need windows at all.

You should give a shot to a live CD of your target distro before partitioning your hard drive for dual booting.

    Good luck !

I just discovered the bootcamp utility. In fact I'm quite new to Mac OS X and I 'm just finding it is much more restrictive than I expected, though it is based on BSD ! Sorry my Linux background made me reply very 'unknowledgeably'. One more reason for me to stick to Linux, more freedom with what I buy !
