    OpenGL.(glu.h) How to install.

    Hello everyone,
I installed QT SDK from Nokia and tried to compile some of the sample applications from OpenGL sub node, but it failed: #include <GL/glu.h> file was not found.

I tried to install messa, but it requires DRI, x11 and so on.

What I mentioned is that each following package requires some other package so my installation is steel in progress.

Maybe there is any other alternative free OpenGL's implementation library, which can be installed easily

    Does anybody know?

BTW, I see that FreeGLUT library also require glu.h file. I tried to install FreeGLUT package (rpm), but received a message that I have already installed on my workstation a new one.
it means that hypothetically glu.h should be already installed.

    How it can be?

I looked into include folder there is gle.h but not glu.h.

    Thanks in advance.

you should be able to select Mesa-devel or freeglut using yast and it will sort all that out for you...

Thanks, but I am not shure how to do this?

I did not see such functionality under yast.
I use SUSE Enterprise desktop 11.

    Thank you chaosless.

But though yast I just able to see installed packages. It requires access to Internet to get updates from server. Unfortunately, I do not have access to web on my Linux machine.

I thought that develop. packages are located on installation media(DVD to my notebook), I tried to map it as repository, but it seems it does not have development package.

Due to yast I just know what version of package I have and what development libraries I need for compability.

I tried to access repositoty directly from the IE, but it is forbidden, maybe it means that for such service(accessing software repository) it is necesasry to have some kind of subscription.

I found the process of installing development libraries quite chagrin.
I started to installing dev. libraries, but stopped on X11, as I received message that I should also install dev. version, but X11 has dozen of dependenciences.
So I will have to install about 30 other packages.
And in my case as I do not have direct access to software repositories I have to do this task manually.

Does anybody have any suggestion how to resolve the issue?

Just go to Yast and select a development pattern.

Some packages require many dependencies just take them they are needed.
