Hello and welcome to the forums!
It's best to use the default package tool for your distribution for installing software whenever possible. That would be Yast in the case of opensuse. If the package you want to install is not available from a package repository, you can install from source if needed.
You can check the following HowTo for the steps to install software from source:
http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/lin...are-linux.html
Be sure to check for any README files that might be included within the extracted tarball should you decide to install from source.oz

Here's a quick guide for Yast software management:
YaST Software Management - openSUSE
If the pysoulseek package is in the opensuse repositories you should be able to use Yast to install it. Otherwise, you'll need to find an opensuse compatible RPM for it, or install it from source.oz
