    Mail setup from YaST2 console - 11.3

    Hi There,

I have a virtual machine what I just started to setup and causing me quite a bit of headache with the mail server setup. What I did so far:
    - Start yast
    - Network Services
    - Mail Server
    - Advanced (I would like to get postfix); get packages installed
    ...Next

" Your computer is configured as an LDAP client and the LDAP server is local.
We suggest you adapt the LDAP server configuration for the mail server...."

    [x] Create certificates.
[x] Set up a local LDAP server.
    [x] Configure dedicated LDAP server.
    ...Next

    CA Selection
I created a new CA so CA Tree contains just one element.
    .. Finish

    LDAP Server Configuration
    Start LDAP Server
    (x) Yes
    Protocol Listeners
    [x] LDAP
    [x] LDAP over IPC (ldapi)
    .. OK

    Error
Connection to the LDAP server cannot be established.

After checking ([x]) Show Details, it shows:
    Protocol error
    unsupported extended operation

Then it asks for LDAP server password, and then shows:
    Error
A problem occured while connecting to the LDAP server.
    init

I am not a big guru with this (a c++ sw engineer who tries to setup a mail server for his own use) and have this trouble for a few days. Would someone be able to help me out please? I expected yast to do the configurations right but am really sad that it does not work...

    Thanks

I don't know this stuff either but have you opened the firewall??? Just a guess.

Are you running an LDAP server? If not, then don't set up LDAP settings.
