Google Image Search rendering issue Firefox - opensuse

    Hi,

I am using firefox 3.6.8 and opensuse 11.3.

Whenever I try searching images in google, the images are not rendered properly. The images are disturbed. Where as if I do the same search in google-chrome or konqueror the images are rendered properly.

I want to know is this a firefox issue or opensuse or any other issue.

I am attaching screen shot of firefox and google-chrome.

Is anybody facing the same problem?

    Regards,
    Anand

I am having Zotac GeForce 8600 GT video card. I have no idea about proprietary driver for this. I havent installed anything explicitily for Display. and by the way I am new to linux. Please let me know If I need to provide any more information.

Below is the information which I took from MyComputer in opensuse desktop.

    Display Info
    Vendor: nVidia Corporation
    Model: GeForce 8600 GT
    2D driver: nouveau
    3D driver: nouveau Gallium (7.8.2)

Try installing the Nvidia driver that normally clears up this kind of problem.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

Don't know if it's related, but some of the Arch users were complaining of the same problem recently:

    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=101469

In that thread they say it's caused by a bug related to the pixman package.

    Thank You gogalthorp!

I installed nVidia driver from the link below.

    http:/ /en.opensuse.org//SDB:NVIDIA_drivers (SDB:NVIDIA drivers - openSUSE)

This did solve the problem and now the driver info in MyComputer shows as below

    Display Info:
    Vendor: nVidia Corporation
    Model: GeForce 8600 GT
    2D driver: nvidia
    3D driver: NVIDIA 256.53

The driver has got changed from nouveau to nvidia

Thank you ozar for providing extra reference link

    Thanks and Regards,
    Anand S
