Updating SuSE without an internet connection
I've searched this forum and I know there are some threads that beat around the bush about this, but I need to know how feasible it is in my situation.
I have a SuSE 10 Enterprise Server at a remote military installation without internet. Even though attacks from the internet would be impossible, the machine still has to be patched to the latest possible level for it to meet DISA compliance standards.
I've installed WSUS on a laptop to take care of the windows boxes, and suppose I could make a SuSE repository server and do the same thing. However I am not sure if I can do this with such an old version. The OS is actually licensed and distributed by Cisco as they make the main application running on the OS, so just upgrading to the latest version of SuSE EL probably won't work.
So before i get ahead of myself, is it still possible to set up a repository server from SuSE 10 EL?
Will the Repository server even work if it itself is not on the internet? Not sure if not being able to contact an NTP server would foul things up

Well that is a Novell product and I still supported so the repos are still available. I assume that a military sever would still have a support contract. You can mirror the repo and then update from that locally. You may have to contacty Novell support for the details.
