    QLogic 2560 point-to-point connection

Please help me with Fibre controllers? Never had to deal.

There are two identical server platforms based on Supermicro:
    M/B X8DTi-F , 2CPU Xeon E5506, RAID SRCSASJV 1Gb cache w/BBU, 40Tb HDD massive, QLogic QLE2560 HBA FC 8Gb
    OS: OpenSuse 11.3
All drivers are installed, system start up

One of the servers to be used as a Storage for another.
We try to connect both adapters HBA FC as: point-to-point.
The task - to establish a connection between two adapters, the first server could see the adapter of second , we Failed to configure.

No special software is installed, we are using a standard configuration of OpenSuse 11.3.
Maybe need to install additional software that one (iniciator) would have seen another (target)?

This is like attaching a cable between 2 Adaptec SCSI cards - they're both initiators.

You will have to install a different HBA driver that puts the storage HBA in a "target mode." Then you'll have to use something to slice and present the storage via the HBA. You may want to consider using OpenSolaris on the storage server in order to use ComStar.

And Google will lead you to this good thread.

Can I arrange FC target the OpenSUSE Resources only?

or next variant - to install software like IP- over- FC, and connect the massives of the iscsi?

    We have reinstalled a little...

Server-1 - installed OS OpenSUSE , all drivers, SanSurfer Manger. All work properly.
Server-2 (storage) -installed Open-E software, which turn any servers into SAN and can work as FC target mode.

If we run Sansurfer Manager on Server-1, the system detects a Server-2 as a target.

Can you provide us detailed instructions on how it need to configure SUSE that we could get access to the Server-2 (Storage) , save the necessary data to it.
