Very Confusing Error

I have a program written in-house in perl and fortran. It worked fine yesterday, shutdown my computer yesterday for the first time in about a month because I've been running calculations. Rebooted this morning. The program doesn't work. I've tracked the error and it appears that the program is setting default values and not reading the input file.
My conclusion is that something has changed in perl that is preventing my program from reading the input file. NOTE that if I transfer the exact same program and exact same input file to a computer running SuSe 10.2 it works, but my computer running SuSe 11.1 does not. HOWEVER, it can't be purely a system upgrade issue because it was running fine on my 11.1 machine yesterday.
Any way to figure out what has changed from yesterday to today? I'm lost.

Did you check Yast and see if there is an older ver of pearl available in the repo. If not you need to find the source and compile it.
BTW 11.1 will soon be out of support. If you are in a commercial environment you should use the Novel versions they have much longer shelf life.
