    List Number of System Startups

Sorry if this is an easy one. Tried Google, and I know this isn't probably SUSE-specific, but I wondered if there was a command that would list the number of system startups. I am familiar with the "last" command, however, this server (OpenSUSE 11) has been hard-shutdown, as well as rebooted and shutdown cleanly. I need to know the total amount of times the server has been down, so listing clean reboots and shutdowns would not help me gather info about the hard-shutdowns. Also, due to power issues, the server has not come completely up on occasion, so watching for a later system startup process would not be entirely accurate, I am hoping for a way to see how many times the boot kernel was launched (or something similar).

Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

From the top of my head, I am not aware of such a number stored somewhere.

    What might help you:
    Look at your monitoring system.
    If it tracks..
    - connection by ping
    - conection by ssh
    - running processes
    - verifys answers from services: http 200 OK, also the content is as expected
    - etc
..then you will see outages in the rrd graphs.
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
