Uptime/top running stats as 'screensaver' in OpenSUSE?
I'm a Windows person recently giving linux a try (just for fun) and have a quick question. I installed OpenSUSE 11.4 and all works great. I don't know anything about linux, this is my first exposure and have some questions...
It appears the default screensaver in OpenSuse is just a blank screen. Is there any screensaver out there that I can download or any way to program a simple screensaver in linux that displays the currently/running real-time uptime, top values etc?
Any of you seen the Tron Legacy trailer where it shows a timer (uptime) as a 'screensaver' and then it seems the machine is running 'top'
I've figured out the font and color schemes that was used. If this was in Windows I could quickly make an opengl screensaver using C++ in Visual Studio but linux I am totally lost.
I'd like to make my own simplistic screensaver that counts UP from the moment it is activated, just like in the Tron Legacy movie (though I doubt I'd leave my computer on for twenty years without a reboot or shutdown) Any tutorials on how to make a screensaver in Linux?
See this example below:

Are there any Linux/OpenSUSE "themes" that can make the interface/GUI look like this below? And if not, how does one go about making a theme/skin?

This kind of reminds me of the old school DOS days and these simplistic vector based minimalistic theme/style is very nostalgic inducing for me. Is OpenSUSE customizable enough where I could make the screensaver and GUI interface match what you see in the Tron movie?
Thanks for any help!
