Lag :(
So I'm on holidays and I decided that I might have a go at Opensuse 11.4. I've wanted to switch over to Linux for a while now, but I have been unable to because of time constraints. So I finally dl the massive ISO and install the OS (dualboot with XP), when I find that the system lags. It's not that bad, still usable, but whenever I scroll down or anything, theres this slight pause that really bugs me. This never happened in Windows XP and I can't really stand even the slightest lag on a machine. My specs are:
Asus P4C800
Pentium 4 @ 2.8Ghz
1 GB Ram
NVIDIA Geforce 4 MX440 with AGP8X
Running on a 40GB partition.
The lag also happens on google earth. I'm assuming that I havent got the drivers configured right or is my system just too slow? I followed some random guide and installed some NVIDIA driver through YAST, but it doesnt seemed to have helped.
Any ideas on optimizing my system?
Im a TOTAL NOOB
EDIT: Running KDE

I would open a terminal and type in
then open google earth and see what is eating up what to cause the lag. Whether cpu or ram. Google Earth is pretty resource intensive. Which is why I don't run it.Code:top

make sure you are running the NVIDIA driver. Open the My Computer icon and see what it says the driver is.
