    Wireless Internet Problems

So, my wireless internet doesnt work...
I have a Broadcom bcm4313 wireless internet card, and im running suse 11.4 on a lenovo v460. After switching from network manager to plasmoid network manager, installing b43xx-fwcutter things, and the broadcom-wl and the broadcom-wl-kmp-desktop, I managed to make it so that when I edited the connections, at least the wireless tab wasnt greyed out. However, when I check enable wireless on the network manager, it stays on for about a millisecond and goes back off. Also, when I input a new wireless connections in the network manager and then exit and go back in, I find that the key for the WEP thing has been removed.
However, the YAST hardware list shows that I have an active driver (wl). If you need any further specifications, please do not hesitate to ask, and I would just like to say that I am a bit uneducated in the ways of linux.. Anyway, any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

are you sure you SWITCHED your wifi ON ?
either you have a touch switch or other HW switch or a hotkey combination to actually switch your wireless device ON
if you find no way to switch wireless on or you see NO reaction to your HW switch
    then
reboot in WIN > switch wireless ON
reboot (NO shutdown!!) into Linux with your wifi ON
once wifi chipset is switched ON in Linux, usually all other functions in plasmoid network manager will work forever. the problem only appears to exist the very first time.
(very same problem also may exist with Bluetooth = same solution)
