While looking into another problem I keep noticing an rcd error with a code of [3185]
Such as:
rcd[3185]: [rcd,hostname] Send hostname/ip failed: Authentication failed
or
rcd[3185]: id=27 COMPLETE 'Downloading ...

rcd errors
While looking into another problem I keep noticing an rcd error with a code of [3185]
Such as:
rcd[3185]: [rcd,hostname] Send hostname/ip failed: Authentication failed
or
rcd[3185]: id=27 COMPLETE 'Downloading //update.novell.com/data/channels.php[/url]' time=8s (failed)
I am at an older suse level 9.2
Any help is greatly appreciated

I used Suse Linux 9.2 for 5 years on a personal computer. Is this a personal computer? server? There has been no support for 9.2 for personal computers for several years.
It looks to me like you are trying to download some updates from novell site and your failing with the authentication and it is timing out. If you are paying Novell for support, contact them. Is this is 9.2 personal computer, there's no longer support for it.
You don't give any other details so I don't know what else is happening here?
