    Upgrading from SLES 10 SP2 to SLES 11 SP1

    Hi,

In our product we are using SLES 10 SP2 and needs to be upgraded to SLES 11 SP1.

This is an enterprise level product which runs SLES along with our product software which has its own configuration files.

Here are my requirements for SLES update:

    1. The downtime should be as minimal as possible.
    2. Our product software configuration files should not be erased as part of SLES.

I am new to this area. So, the question might looks too generic.

Please provide me some insights on the how enterprise products update their OS versions and whats the best approach.

    Thanks,
    Vinay

I am looking at the best way to wrap SLES 11 into my product which installs SLES 11 and also installs my product software.

I have SLES 10 SP2 currently and need to go to SLES 11 SP1. Can I just take all SLES 11 SP1 RPM's, write a script which installs all these rpms. When the script is executed, it will install all the rpms ?
