I have just installed suse 11.4, and I am having troubles connecting to my home network, with my "linksys 801.11b" usb network adapter. I have tried connecting to the network with the network encryption turn off, and it connects, so I know the network adapter is working, but when WEP is turned on it doesn't connect. I have triple checked the network key (and it is correct). It is a 64-bit, hex, shared key (in the form xxxxyyxxxx, where x=number, y=letter). I have also looked at the dmesg output, and it reports:

wlan0: authenticate with <some address> (try 1)
wlan0: authenticate with <some address> (try 2)
wlan0: authenticate with <some address> (try 3)
wlan0: authentication timeout
note: this may be slightly different from the actual output, but it is the general idea

does anyone know why this happens, and how it can be fixed?
