    And it failed. I made a 1-click install of package ralink-firmware-1.2-1.2.noarch.rpm from OpenSUSE website. It added two Thumbleweed repos and deleted the kernel-firmware package that was installed by default and as result network connection has gone permanently. Then I just made a clean install again. Network Manager still not working.

    I think you should ditch NM and try WICD. Maybe that'll help you.

    Agreed. Network Manager seems to cause headaches for quite a few folks, usually by dropping connections.
    WICD, on the other hand, usually works pretty well.

    No, now I have internet connection, I just installed Kubuntu and my problems gone away. Thanks to all for your help.
