    Exclamation problem with audio

    I can't get sound on my system running open Suse 12.1 either 64 bit or 32 bit. I also have a laptop with no sound when it runs mepis 11. I have sound when I switch distros with debian packages. There is something about RPM packages not allowing sound. Anyone have any thoughts?

    have you tried updating your system and audio driver? that's the first thing that comes to mind.
