    Question Installing Samsung printer on open suse 12.2

    For some unknown reason, suse 12.2 does not have printer drivers installed. I am trying to add a Samsung ML2851nd network printer. I followed the SDB and downloaded the drivers but they would not install when I tried autorun from the command line. I can't install with YAST or CUPS. How do I install printer?

    Hello

    Go here and download the Postscript PPD file for your printer:

    Printer: Samsung ML-2851ND | OpenPrinting - The Linux Foundation

    - as root user copy the PPD file to the /usr/share/cups/model folder
    - reboot, or restart CUPS
    - open your web browser and enter localhost:631 into the location bar
    - choose add printer from the options available and follow the menu driven steps to add a printer

    If you have all the required packages installed for CUPS, your printer should now work.
