    Compat-Wireless Error

    I am attempting to compile ath3k.c and get support for my Atheros internal BT module.

    linux-lhwo:/home/larry/compat-wireless-3.6.8-1 # ./scripts/driver-select ath3k
    Processing new driver-select request...
    Backup exists: Makefile.bk
    Unsupported driver

    I am not sure why this driver is not supported when I am able to use the ath9k driver for my wlan with no problems utilizing the steps listed at aircrack-ng.org with no problems. I also get the same error when trying to compile btusb.c. Any advice would be appreciated.

    I don't personally use Bluetooth, but perhaps you could get some advice if you post the output of lspci -v and lsusb.

    The ath3k (Atheros AR30xx firmware driver) is included as part of the kernel.

    Further more, when I look into device configuration I see this screen shot.

    It seems to me that the device is configured and working, but I cannot be seen by or find other BT devices.

    As I would have thought. Your attached image is too low resolution to determine what you are trying to do.

    Have you tried

    The hcitool utility can be used to list your device and scan for other nearby BT devices

    BTW, the 'rfkill' utility can be used to enable/disable BT devices, so worthwhile checking if soft-blocked for example
