    a alarm function within the clock - doable?


    hello dear linux-experts

    i run opensuse linux and i want to have a alarm function within the clock

    is this possible?



    The alarm function shall cause the system to generate a Alarm signal - to wake me up


    how to do this - is there any similar function within the kde-system?

    btw: well i heard about kalarm

    hmm - kalarm sounds great - i need some trivial programm- (utility) that gives notice - and a audible alarm


    btw - is kalarm a plasmoid - thing - in other words can i find it a t the miniprogrammes

    I don't know where you would find kalarm in the Opensuse menu but, if you simply type /usr/bin/kalarm in a terminal/konsole it will open if it is installed. You can set it to display a message, run a script as well as play a sound/alarm.

    hi - it was not installed - but while i tried to install via yast i got following COMPLAINTS


    Index of /suse/openSUSE_12.3/ WAS NOT FOUND


    WHAT CAN I DO should i do some trials within the terminal?

    How did you try to install it? You should be looking for a package named kdepim, see the link below for some info. You should have a search functin in yast, try kalarm or kdepim and see what results. I haven't used Suse for years so can't be more specific.

    kalarm-4.10.3-1.30.7.i586 RPM

    Direct install is software opensuse org/package/kalarm. Take out spaces between software opensuse org and add a .
