    Roles with administrative functions as groups...


    simple question but I am lost!
    In a system where for example users have secondary group identities that remain fixed during their login sessions, what are the advantages of roles with the same administrative functions as the groups?
    Do they really have advantages?

    "In a system" - what system? Linux? Which distro? Kernel version?

    "login sessions" - to what? What has the session?
