    Question Antivirus & Utilities


    Hello everyone. I'm very new to linux and loving it. I do however have lots of questions about it, but only one for now. Is there anything like AVG Antivirus & AVG Tuneup for linux Suse ?

    There isn't a lot of need for AV software on Linux if you have good computer habits. But there are packages if you want:

    Clam AntiVirus

    Tuning up products don't know of any off hand, most Windows tuneup are mainly deleting bloat in the regiatry and other files, some tweaking of network settings. Linux if you start have performance issues just post questions and people can help you tweak your configurations files.

    No need to defrag with Linux. Period.
    While others might give a more techie statement, it's cuz journaled filesystems just don't need it.

    well, there is AVG for Linux, packaged as an RPM (as well as .deb and tarball). I use it on work Linux rigs. no GUI, only terminal-based, but for me, that's a bonus, not a drawback. or maybe there is a GUI, hell, i never looked for one.
