    Freezes on KDE splash screen...

I just installed 9.1 personal and I reboot and I see the KDE splash screen. It goes through all of the steps and I see the desktop image, Trash, and the middle of the bottom bar. There are no ends, though.

My mouse freezes and I can't do anything. I'm pretty new to all of this, but there is not much to do when I get to this point.

    Please help!!

    Thanks!

I think u can see what is actually loading behind the scenes on virtual terminal 1 (hit ctrl-alt-1) and see which service it is exactly stopping at,

It will be better for troubleshooting if u can boot into command line mode instead of directly starting X. To do this u will have to boot using another means like a linux bootable or the installation cds in rescue mode.

then change the line id:initlevel:5 to id:initlevel:3 in /etc/inittab.

please mail back when u have identified the exct cause of the problem.
