    Cannot find make

    Hi,

    I'm new to Linux, now setting up a machine with SuSe 9.1 Personal...
    When trying to install the USB modem driver, using the "make" command gives me an error message, telling me that make is not found.
    I have checked the installation using Yast, it seems that all packages are there... any suggestions?

    Thank you

    so the error is something like
    Code:
    bash : make : command not found
    ?
    Cos SuSe 9.1 Personal does not come with make by default

    Ok to install the compileing packages you may need do the following:

    YaST -> Change Source of instalation -> Add -> ftp

    server nmae = ftp.suse.com

    directory on server = pub/suse/i386/current

    OK, then finnish

    then close down yast

    now;

    YaST -> Install and remove software -> filter -> selections

    tick the C/C++ compiler and tools box 9and any other things that take your fancy), then click accept, now you should be able to use the make command;

    hope this helps;
