    SUSE 9.1 installation question


    I have a amd64 bit processor and when I try to install suse it tells me I am trying to install 32bit software on a 64 bit system, could i still install without a problem? and if not what do you recommend for my situation, I am going to dual boot linux and winXP, and I am new to linux.

    It shouldn't be a problem, especially cos you can still get x86-64 rpms for SuSe 9.1 externally.

    So you think I could run it without any problems? kewl Thanks for the info

    When installing do I have to create a partition before or could I do it in the installation
    I am running winXP pro right now and I want to dual boot?

    YaST will take care of this for you automatically during the install.

    kewl so I can just put the cd in and it will do the partitioning itself. Then when it boots it will ask me which one I want to run?
    Will I be able to see the files on my xp partition

    SuSE 32-bit will run just fine on an AMD64 system. SuSE 64-bit will as well. You might want to give it a shot one day, both versions come with the retail DVD of 9.1 and 9.2.
