    K3b update help

I am attempting to update k3b. I am hoping to be able to copy dvd's. But, I was told k3b.0.11.15 does not support dual layer dvd's.

    I dl'd the k3b-0.11.23tar.bz2, extracted it.
But now I don't know how to install it.

    Your help is appreciated.

    So you did the
    Code:
    bunzip2 filename.tar.bz2
    which converts to a tar..
    then
    Code:
    tar xvf filename.tar
    right?

No, I right clicked on the file and clicked on "extract here".
I have never had a problem extracting this way before.

The ./configure id not work. t said there was no c compler in the path.
After reading those instructions, I realized my mistake.
    I cd'd to /wizard1/k3bxxxx. When I should have cd'd to k3bxxxxx.

Thanks for the help, I am going to try that now.

No help, I still get "no acceptable c compiler in $Path"

I tried both ways of extraction. Right clicking and typing
    # tar -xjvf k3b-0.11.10.tar.bz2
