I am attempting to update k3b. I am hoping to be able to copy dvd's. But, I was told k3b.0.11.15 does not support dual layer dvd's.

K3b update help
I am attempting to update k3b. I am hoping to be able to copy dvd's. But, I was told k3b.0.11.15 does not support dual layer dvd's.
I dl'd the k3b-0.11.23tar.bz2, extracted it.
But now I don't know how to install it.

So you did the
which converts to a tar..Code:bunzip2 filename.tar.bz2
then
right?Code:tar xvf filename.tar

No, I right clicked on the file and clicked on "extract here".
I have never had a problem extracting this way before.How to know if you are a geek.

Is the latest k3b not available in rpm format or in YaST update?

I didn't see it, but i just finished updating Kde from 3.3 to 3.4, and now I have K3b.0.11.20 So, I am hoping this will help.

wait, I am confused..... did the extraction not work, or did

The ./configure id not work. t said there was no c compler in the path.
After reading those instructions, I realized my mistake.
I cd'd to /wizard1/k3bxxxx. When I should have cd'd to k3bxxxxx.

No help, I still get "no acceptable c compiler in $Path"
I tried both ways of extraction. Right clicking and typing
# tar -xjvf k3b-0.11.10.tar.bz2How to know if you are a geek.
