    Funny, 9.3 shuts down just fine for me, out of the box, with no odd configuration wizardry required.

    I think I have figured out what the problem was. After re-installing FC3 and then realizing how much more I liked Suse, I went back to it. This time during the install, I did not enable 3D Acceleration (I did before). I haven't had the problem since.
