    broadcom wlan card

Hey Im pretty new and well.....15 years old so excuse my ignorance.

I installed suse9.2 and everythings great except for my wireless card. It simply isn't being detected. Im running SuSE on my laptop. Its a Compaq Pressario R3000 and the wireless card is built in. Theres just simply an on and off buttom for my wireless card (which only works in windows right now.) I have tried the ndiswrapper1.1 and nothing works. Im not sure what to do...Ive tried adding the card manually but I have no idea what kernel (somthing or other) I need to choose and whether or not the built in wireless card is even supported. I dont have the exact card name seeing as I cant detect it but heres as much as I know (from windows, got the dual boot)

    Broadcom
    8.11g Wireless Lan Card A,B,G
    and thats it.

    Please Help!

    Thanks Everyone

To get your Kernel version go to your terminal and type:
    Code:
     uname -a
and whether or not the built in wireless card is even supported. I dont have the exact card name seeing as I cant detect it but heres as much as I know (from windows, got the dual boot)
There are several ways to find out what your card info is. Here is one that I recommend you do so that you can see all your hardware info in detail. Again go to your terminal and type in the command:
    Code:
     hwinfo
    registered Linux user #388382

    Have you checked here first?

I see it says it is not configured but ive tried to go to control center, yast2, network devices, network card. It has a wlan0 but that the one ive manually installed. Its not in the network cards to configure box either. Ill try to reinstall it using that kernel command you gave me but im doubtful. I see that the info my computer gave me doesnt include a driver? Is that okay? I think it would need one. Thanks for all the help so far.
