    Xev should be installed, I think it's part of x-windows. As for the keyboard, as Cabhan wrote, you can write the config files yourself. I've yet to get it working, though.

    you have to type "lineakd $" in on the command line.

    If you want it to show you info and tell if it actually detected your keystroke, use "lineakd -v"

    just started using this so.....
    I'm wondering how you get the kde plugin running because I use AMAROK , not xmms....

    Cool, thanks for that tip, Ekim. I'm sorry I can't help with your problem, I didn't install any of the graphical configuration tools, I don't use anything KDE... Have you checked the documentation? There's a bit about the plugins:
