    SuSE 9.3 Problems

Just moved over from windows and i have two small problems running linux on my laptop these are:

    1. Everytime I restart linux i have to go into YaST and delete my sound card and add it again in order to get sound to work.

    2. When connecting to my university network it won't initially connect, i have found that restarting booting into windows then shutting down and booting back into linux works. However just rebooting straight back into linux doesn't??????

I'm running SuSE 9.3 on an Acer Aspire 5002LM, YaST says i have a SIS PCI Fast Ethernet.
    Thanks for any help,
    Ollie.

What kind of sound chipset does your laptop use?
