network woes from a newbe
hi i'm new to linux. i have unstalled suse 9.1 on a junk laptop and now on my desktop. on my laptop my dsl connection works fine. on my desktop it is not happening! as suse boots up it gets to network and waits and finally says network failure any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

hi i'm back again folks, i just got done pulling the power cord on my netgear fast ethernet switch and voila! my desktop system is online.
i have no clue why the laptop worked and the desktop didn't. but at least they both work now. i'm new and i know i'll be back with more cry's for help. thanks
