    need help with dial-up connection SuSE 10



    I cannot establish an internet connection. The kinternet log is the following:

    i'm sorry but i still need the model, after all there are many us robotics modems. if you are not sure its usualy a funny looking number, example USR1234X. Also is it PCI or Serial.

    The model is USR5630B. It's a serial modem. There are two serial numbers written on the modem: UFN73160I3TH, 995630-00.
    Also, I forgot to mention that the modem used to work with SuSE versions prior to 9.3

    You could go into Suse options and see if the network stuff is configured properly, but I don't know how stuff works in Suse 10 as I still use 9.1

    ok, i'm not sure if this will help but, try re-installing the modem. I guess you know how but here is a guide http://www.reallylinux.com/docs/basicdialup.shtml

    also check "stupid mode" sometimes it works sometimes not.

    You can click Express Search then click modem - to find out which U.S. Robotics modems are supported by Suse.

    Ok. The modem is fully supported. I re-installed the modem, turned the firewall on and off and tried the stupid mode and still nothing.

    I also tried another ISP which works with Windows and I got the following log from kinternet:
