suse 9.3 GeForce 6600 grafix problem

    hi
im brand new to linux. i installed suse 9.3 the other day and everything seemed to go smoothly but when i rebooted after installation, the grafix are too screwed up to see what is going on. it looks like it might be in 16 bit color or something and everything is in the bottom right half corner. i used the installation disc to see if i could change the settings in there some where but couldnt find anything. btw i have GeForce 6600 card and amd 64.

im thinking i probably just need drivers. but how do i install them when i cant see anything? and im also not sure on which ones i need.

    has anyone had this problem?
    thanks in advance

when you boot next time, boot to failsafe. at the login prompt, login as root. then at the prompt type sax2 -m 0=vesa, then press enter.that should give you basic vesa settings when you reboot. when you log in next, go to yast ,online update & download the nvidia drivers
