    SuSe install freezes

Hi, I'm new to Linux and I want to install SuSe on a seperate hard drive as XP. My problem is that when ever the installation gets to the point where there is 10 minutes and 11 seconds left, it freezes (where it talks about OpenOffice). I can't move the mouse or anything, all I can do is restart my computer. What do I do?

Based on what you have seen, if you do indeed believe that there is something about loading the OpenOffice package(s) that is causing the computer to freeze or lock up - and, especially if you have tried multiple times with the same exact thing happening each time -- then, you might try installing the system without including OpenOffice (install it later, after the system is up and running).

    Something you could try...

I tried to reinstall it multiple times and now it seems that it's freezing in random places now.

Well, that is good information - even though it does not help pinpoint the problem -- I guess you can ignore my previous post...

EDIT: Do you have the boxed CDs, or did you download and burn?

    I downloaded and burned it.

Did you validate the check-sum before you burned it?

No, how do you do that?
