    no 3D acceleration

I have SuSE 10.0 running and stable on my Acer Ferrari 4005 laptop. The video card is an ATI Radeon Mobility X700. I had to load and configure my driver manually in CLI because it didnt load during the initial install. After loading the driver I used Sax2 to get my gui running but I cant get 3D acceleration to work. Im new to linux so any help would be amazing, thanks in advance

First off, which version of ATI drivers did you install?
Did you follow their (=ATI's) install instructions?
Because you have to conclude the actuall install process by configuring your xorg.conf file with
    Code:
    aticonfig --initial
Sax2, as a configuring tool for your graphics card, becomes pretty much redundant after that, so if you want to fiddle around with your card settings use aticonfig instead.
You can check if you got 3D support by typing
    Code:
    glxgears
which should show some - surprise - rotating gear wheels.
If that doesnt work, then check
    Code:
    fglrxinfo
If it still says mesa driver somewhere, then the ATI driver did not install properly...
