    remote access to a server

I'm using SuSe 10.0 and was wanting to know what program to use to access the server from another computer.

A friend and I have set up a server and he needs access to it, he lives in DC and I'm in Ga, so is there a program I need to get for this.

if from another nix puter you would use 'ssh' and if used with the -X arg and the '/etc/sshd_config' or '/etc/ssh2/sshd2_config' is setup for it that will import gui through ssh ...theigh this takes alot of resources and thus is realy slow.

    see 'man ssh'

if from a windows box you would use 'putty' (ssh client that runs in windows)

Before anything, you need to determine what sort of server it is - that will drive what you need. Your friend should be able to tell you - if it's a Linux box running ssh, or it's an ftp server, http... "Server" is rather generic and can mean many things.
