Quick question - Suse 10 as server

I have two machines, xp and suse10 and thinking about using the suse machine as a temporary file server to be accessed from the xp machine. The distro came with apache and perl which is all I need.

Will the windows-linux thing be a problem, I'm writting the cgi scripts on windows just because I don't want to write and host them on thesame linux machine.
How do I go about this or am I pretty much set?
    Thanks.
