Suse 10 running Slow, Amarok also Lags

Thanks for any help in advance.

I just installed Suse10 on my ASUS 1.33 wi 2g RAM and it runs pretty slow. Just not as crisp and quick as I would expect. But It really shows while playing amarok. I have the files local and I cant resize or move a window without a delay in the sound.

Just wondering what could be the main issue? I would really like to keep Suse, but it is too sluggish as it is on my machine.

I know that is quite broad.
    Thanks for any hints.

    thanks,
I actually had to use that to get my network running.
On my first install, most everything worked, then I updated my bios and lost my network on SUse.
The only way I could get it to work is to have that option.
