Sound Card Errors
Another Question from me (I decided to post two different ones to keep things seperated and so i don't get confused
) Anyway, I have a Gateway M320 Laptop. I recently put Suse 10.0 on here (because I purchased the CD's from Suse in october) and I cannot make the sound card work. Any ideas??

My advice: try Suse 10.1 instead. The problem is probably corrected.

Can this be upgraded in suse 10.0 or do i need to download it ( I attempted to do this and it was ungawdly slow... It is the slowest one I attempted to download for linux)
Edit: can this be downloaded using the Software Updater
- 05-24-2006 #4Yes you can, but a clean install normally gives better results.

I don't recommend upgrading to 10.1 because it leads to problems due to the new disc mounter. It really suck.
Anyways, it's much better if you just install the latest ALSA as ALSA manages your soundcards.

This can be done through Software Updater or do I need to go to the alsa site inorder to do this? I think I've tried that in the past and screwed it up some how. (i'm such a freakin' noob, but I dislike windows)
