    A problem with my SB

The first to say is that I'm a newbie to Linux.
    Now my problem is....
when I start the computer, and bott Suse 10.0, an auful sound comes out of my SB!!!
I'm also not so new with the computers so i checked the forum and tried some of the threads u sugested, but the problem is not solved.
The sound that comes out of my speakers is from the capture device... in alsamixer i turned down he volume to 0, but when i try to play a simple mp3 file with the XMMS player, the same auful noise comes out.
Several times i menaged to solve the problem, but to the nex shut down... when rebooting it dosen't apears but after shutdown... again that auful noise.
I have a TV card - Prolink Pixel Biew Play TV Pro, SB Audigy LS (SB Live! 24bit 7.1, the system detects it like BS Audigy LS) and the Sound Card on my motherboard(via chipset)....
So how can i solve the problem???
I've tried to uninstall all the devices, the 2 SC and the TV card, but still no solution found... the sound is still coming out...
I'm used to listen to music whenever i sit down infront of the computer, but now i have to stay in silence....
When i boot into XP the problem is gone.....
    HELP ME PLS!
    Best Regards from Bulgaria!

So you have onboard sound and a PCI sound card?

The first step would be to disable the onboard sound in the BIOS.

Only then will you be able to properly set up sound in Suse.

Disabling onboard sound in the BIOS?

No, Suse's default kernel is very modular. Also, the kernel probe for hardware on every boot anyway.

So it doesn't really matter if the hardware changes.

    Question

    The problem still remains...
I've disabled the on-board SC, configured with Yast and alsaconf, but after shut down if i boot the linux fist, and try to play an mp3.... the auful noise comes out of the speakers...
    But therte is a solution!!!
If i boot the windows first, then reboot to linux - the problem's gone!!!
It's like the windows is updating something in the SB configuration and the linux understands it....
I'm verry curious about this, don't know wath to think.... :drown:
I've read that some guy solved the problem with installing the SuSE 10.1... shel i do that too...
And one more question - can i configure the SuSE to work with 2 SC???
It's like i want to use a DJ Mixer and with the windows i dont have problems with the Atomix MP3 and the 2 SC... can i do it the same way with the linux????
    Best Regards from Bulgaria!
