    wallpaper distorted

Ok so I decided to upgrade to SuSE 10.1 just for a shot. everything's ok so far, and XGL's up and running on my laptop.
THe only problem is that my wallapaper shows some distortion, particularly when i use wallpapers that blend a few colors, for example lets take the startup screen . here's how mine looks like. I've made sure that color blending under wallpaper setup has been turned off. I don't see any distortion in icons, menus, konquerer and firefox, just wallpapers only.
It was like this all the while , even before I installed XGL. Current hardware : Nvidia Geforce 6800 GO, LCD: 1920x1200
    resolution : 1920x1200, colors : 16.7 M (24Bit) . 3d acceleration activated

does anyone know why i'm experiencing this ?

I'm afraid I can't actually see any distortion - unless you mean the slight gradient in the paper, but that is actually a part of the image. That said I'm also running a 1920x1200 laptop screen.
