i'm using suse 10, i installed a new dvd writer device but can't get it configured to burn dvd's. Any suggestions on where to begin to do something like this ??? there are no mount pts for it in fstab and i'm not sure if its /dev/hdc or /dev/hd? . How can i figure all this out?

You have to create the mount points manually in /etc/fstab , I don't know how to identify the driver but I usually put a disc and try with every /dev/hd? or /dev/sd? until I get the location but maybe a programs like k3b can identify it quicker
