Setting up Dell E1705 with ndiswrapper
I am new to the forums but i have been on browsing for days now trying to get my laptop setup for wireless. I see alot of people are having the same issues and i have seemed to solve the problem. This is a SUSE 10.1 using ndiswrapper
1. Base install od suse is what i did
2. Installed ndiswrapper from the cd's
3. downloaded the driver from the dell site...for the 1309 wireless card mini wireless...
4. Saved the file and renamed it to .ZIP extension and extracted the .sys and the .inf file using file roller.
5. Once done i issued the following command
ndiswrapper -i /home/username/Driiver/bmwl5.inf
modprobe ndiswrapper and BINGO things seemed to be going fine.
I did however reboot my machine and went into yast and setup a wireless card and let yast config it for me. Took about 5 minutes for the wireless to come live but it does come live. So dont fret it will work.
I have been working on this issue now for 3 days and finally got it to work/ I used the base ndiswrapper that came with SUSE 10.1 and did not do the ndiswrapper from the net.
