Hi I need help with booting of my kernel 2.6.15.4. My old kernel was 2.6.11.4 and it was working fine. but when I built the new kernel 2.6.15.4 and tried to boot it, it gives the following message and stalls until i enter 'Exit' after which it boots.

If I try to boot the old(2.6.11.4) kernel it stallls after following messages

reiserfs : disagrees about version of symbol struct_module
insmod: error inserting 'lib/modules/2.6.11.4 -20a -smp/kernel/fs/reiserfs/reiserfs.ko' -1 invalid module format
loading kernel/fs/reiserfs/reiserfs.ko
waiting for device /dev/hda3 to appear

if I try to boot the new(2.6.15.4) kernel it stalls after the following messages

loading kernel/fs/reiserfs/reiserfs.ko
waiting for device /dev/hda3 to appear: .... not found exiting to /bin/sh
sh: can't access tty : job control turned off
$


Can some one help me out here....I am using Suse 9.3.
