Also I accidentally deleted the start button on SUSE. How do I put it back on...

I don't understand what you mean by running XP in the background. Do you mean being given a choice between XP and linux when you boot the machine?
I don't think it's possible to have two OS's working on the same machine simultaneously, if that's what you mean by running it in the background.Registered Linux user #388328 || Registered LFS user #15880

The only thing I know that does something similar to that is Xen, but having never played with it I wouldn't know where to start. Or do you mean dual booting (being given the option of which OS you would like to boot when you first turn on the computer)?

I want to run two OS. Linux is the main one but Windows runs in the backgroun. If you can not do that then what should I use?

VMware server has been great for me so far. But understand that it is possible to have two operating systems installed at once but just not running at once.

Keep in mind that using something like VMWare is not going to be very optimal. The virtual machine will consume ram and hard drive space plus slowing your computer down at the same time. That said, it is still a fun way to test distros!

If you have latest core duo CPU, you should be able to run both Windows and Linux at the same time using XEN. But again, it's still virtualization.
