Wine
I would like to know how exactly WINE works on linux.
Is it that any windows application will run just the same way it does in WINDOWS or that only those select applications that have already been tested by its developers run properly wihtout any bugs.

No, I have yet to see any Microsoft Windows program other than perhaps Solitaire that runs 100% the same in WINE as it would in MS Windows. Some people have had luck with the commercial versions of WINE such as Crossover or Cedega, but if you're looking for a bug-free way to run Windows software in Linux, there really is none right now.Is it that any windows application will run just the same way it does in WINDOWS or that only those select applications that have already been tested by its developers run properly wihtout any bugs.Registered Linux user #270181

I don't think anything is "exactly" the same. I typically dislike using wine, but having typed that, there is the odd app that I will run under wine, either because I don't like the SuSE equivalent, or because I can't get the SuSE equivalent to run.
